When I was in high school, my dad was selling a ton of FMC SideWinder 5- and 6-foot rotary mowers. The decks came in shipped in a vertical position--took up less room on the truck--and the hitches were optional, as in, a mower could be assembled as either a pull-type OR a 3-point.
Your 3-point setup looks a lot like what SideWinder used, except the tail wheel assembly was wider and attached directly to the deck, without the cantilever setup you used. SideWinder's axle assembly also was wider, so it could "straddle" the mower deck...not so good for mowing really close to fences, though.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
