So I am looking to buy the 1030. Price is $3,500. It has not been used much for the past couple years. I will also have about $1200 into a loader.
The owner says the clutch is good. Starts and runs good. He bought the tractor from a retired farmer a couple years ago and just has not used much. So he does not know much more about it.
I am headed there to drive it and take a look in a few days and I would like to know what to look for.
I am quite inexperienced mechanically, however, I can find my way around given good instructions.
My questions is what exactly should I look for, listen for, check out, etc...
I realize some repairs and maintenance will be required on this age tractor but I really do not want to get stuck with a lemon!
Also, how does the 1030 handle with a loader. Is is slow and clumsy or does it make a good loader tractor.
