Thanks for the good advice. Took my neighbor in my GMC/427 & 33' trailer to Minear IL (near Bloomfield or maybe it's Bloomington) Tues-Wed. Took 26 hrs & over $400 in hi-test gas. He drove a third & I 2/3rds. He paid gas, motel & our only meal. Charged like you said $1/loaded mile for the 410 mile loaded trip. We picked up his 12-row JD planter at Cross Implement Inc. (BIG JD dealer). Planter when folded was 4 ft. longer that trailer. When we crashed at motel we'd been 30 hrs w/o sleep (left 10 pm, got there 7 am & they were already running wide open). Slept 3 hrs & hit for home. Amazing how refreshed the body can be from 3 hrs sleep after a tense trip. Accursed Interstates tested severely every weld in truck & trailer. We were thrown up off the seats more times than I can remember.
