Made up stuff isn't near as entertaining........
Working today so walked across the street to our little convenience store at 0905 (it opened at 0900). Big neutral colored lady with about 3 bottles of perfume, a tube of lipstick, and about 2 inch fingernails was havind a cigarette in front of the entrance. Guessed she was a cashier ecause she grunted something and threw down her cigarette when she saw me.
1st the funny part: you couldn't tell what kind of cigarette it was because there was lipstick well past the filter.
Then, at the cash register, I had cup of coffee that cost $1.30. Gave her a dollar bill, a quarter, and a dime. She looked at the total on the register, the money I gave her, punched it in and put it all in the drawer and dug out a nickel (good so far) and the same dollar I just gave her and handed me $1.05 and a receipt that showed that I gave her 1.35 for 1.30 and got 5 cents back.
Gave the dollar and the receipt to the manager and she told me to get another cup of coffee and a donut cause I was the only one to give anything back. Said that cashier was routinely about 20 bucks short after a 6 hour shift.
Next one:
It's a major cleaning day for our building. Twice a year the cleaning contractors swoop in and do a complete, empty out the room cleaning.
2 crews of 15 show up with buckets, rags, and assorted cleaning goodies. Gotta watch this to believe it.
The crew stands and watches 3 guys move everything into the hall. Those 3 set down. 2 or 3 others go in with dusters and brooms to brush down ceilings and walls. They come out and chill while a couple more run in and clean windows. Next is the dusters, then the vacuumer, then the mopper. They all go outside for a cigarette while the floor dries.
Come back in, the first 3 put everything back in, couple go in and arrange said furniture. The supervisor of the crew (idle til now) goes in, looks it over, nods her head, and they move to the next room.
