Kootney Cub, Take the glass bulb off of the bottom of the tank. Turn the fuel valve on and gas should run out in two streams from the valve. If that's good open up your carb and remove your float. If it has a brass float here are some hints to see if it's bad. Shake it to see if you can hear any fuel sloshing around in it. If it has fuel in it replace the float cause it's bad. They call this a "heavy float" cause it won't shut the fuel off which causes the carb to spill over. You can also check the float by putting it in a bowl of water and slightly squeezing it with two fingers. If any bubbles come up there is a hole in the float. I have resoldered old floats with holes but sometimes it causes more holes so a new float is usually the best alternative.
