I'm assuming you have farm liability insurance. (If not, why not?)
Get your insurance company involved. They'll have all the legal expertise to get it squashed. If it turns out you WERE liable, most likely it would be settled for the limit of your insurance or less.
Also contact the sleaziest, most obnoxious attorney you can find. One the plaintiff will KNOW will pull every trick in the book, and countersue.
My wife was in a head-on collision, not of her creation, several years ago. Without going into detail, there was never any question it was the other party's fault. Thanks to the airbag and belts, my wife walked away from it at the time, but eventually had to have a knee scoped, etc.
When it looked like I'd be in over my head on settling, I contacted our personal attorney who referred us to a buddy of his that specializes in personal injury. He was a nice guy, and got us a fair settlement, but I've always wondered in my mind if we wouldn't have done better by contacting a well known local ambulance chaser who routinely plasters his ugly mug all over TV ads.
