You don't say who sued you, the owner of the car or the motorcyclist. My guess is that one party in the accident was uninsured, and the other party is coming after you because they can't get blood out of a turnip.
As stated before, if you have liability insurance you have nothing to worry about. If you don't, a few hundred bucks paid to a lawyer will be money well spent. What you do NOT want to do is to ignore the suit and lose by default.
Someone I used to work with was sued when a motorcyclist lost control of his bike and crashed into her boat, which was parked on a trailer in her driveway. Their insurance company wanted to just settle with the idiot, but she and her husband were so incensed that they insisted on fighting the case in court. She moved onto another job before the case was settled, so I don't know how it turned out.
