I have heard all kinds of things. What I know for sure is our corn on corn acres are taking a beating. We have been in two fields that are continuous corn. The one we finished came in at 156 dry and the other isnt complete but doesnt appear it will make 100. Not pretty, looked bad all year and its as bad as it looks. That being said we have another couple hundred acres of continuous corn that looks like it will be ok. The corn following beans is off 30 plus bushells from last year but is staying between 185 and 210so far and I am satisfied with that. Moisture has ranged from 21 to 17 and most in that 17-18 range. Test weights have been 58-62lbs. Overall the corn is of good quality and all things considered we are happy. Our beans wont cut for a while, maybe three weeks. Very few beans will be cut here anytime soon. Most are very green yet. They do look good for whatever thats worth. We should get very near the half way point on corn tomorrow. Our only hangup right now is keeping the dry corn leaving the farm. With five bin dryers running and 18 percent corn we can keep a nice flow of dry corn leaving the farm. The elevator hauled 25 loads of corn on thursday and friday. Come monday morning we will have another 25 that will need to be moved. We have made good progress in the past week without trying hard. I think from here on we will push a litte harder and see if we can really cover some ground. There is no shortage of work waiting for us on the other side of harvest! bill
