having issues with cockshutt 40 charging.
Mid-restore, did not charge before restoring (did not run). All new wiring, new regulator, switches, and I went through the generator. When it is running (and the regulator cover is off) I can push down on the contacts of the "L" terminal, and then it will charge just fine and kick out when I idle it down. BUT it will not kick back in when i rev it up again. I have traced, re-traced, and re-traced my re-trace to double check the wiring. I have tried another regulator with the same luck. I have checked different wiring schematics for other 6 volt tractors, and still no luck.
Any suggestions?
I doubt that it is two bad regulators, (both new) and if the generator was bad- then why does it charge when I manually close the "L" contacts?
