I"m 69 so I know the feeling. However, a couple of years ago, I began taking a "power nap" almost every day. After lunch, I lay back in my Lazy-Boy and instantly fall asleep. I usually wake up in 20 minutes but sometimes I might sleep for up to 40. When I get up I feel ready to go again. I find the 20 minutes I give up more than pays for itself in increased productivity. Am I just lucky that I can almost always fall asleep as soon as I lay down? I don"t know, but I attribute some of it to the Lazy-Boy my wife bought for my birthday in "69. " been reupholstered once already and ready for another but I truly believe they don"t make them as good today as they did then.
