Jet fuel (JP4) and/or Kerosene has greater solvent properties and the septane rating is lower than diesel. This will effect cold starting and BTU output of the engine.
Running a diesel engine on jet fuel or kero for a short while will not hurt anything except it may clog your filters as the solvent properties work on the dirt in your system.
If you find out you do have pure jet fuel or kero in your tank now drain it down low enough you can add #2 diesel to make a 50/50 mix or more. This will be regular winter diesel once you have it mixed.
