It's been real dry here too, I have not cut the grass since mid august, which is unheard of around here for most years. I plowed up some ground and planted some oats, forage for the deer, some areas were sod bound since '86 or so, all of what I turned over was as dry as if it were turned a week ago, dry powder, dust, so I left it in furrows, til right before a soaking rain earlier this week, ground is hard though, the field that was harvested, oats, I could not get the plow in the ground, though the shares are worn, it went in a moist area, never had dust when plowing, one can see how under the right conditions, you could lose topsoil.
