Our black Chow Taz had an ultrasound to determine why she was losing weight and vomiting back in July and they determined she had stomach cancer. Taz could open the kitchen cabinet doors with her paw and she could open the sliding glass door. She would extend her right paw to shake hands with you.
She had lost 50% of her original weight which was near 60 pounds. When they weighed her today she only weighed 30 pounds. She hasn't been eating any solid food since April. She's been very active considering her weight loss. She started passing blood on Wednesday so we decided it was time to put her to sleep. My wife seems think it was the dog food that they were recalling several years ago to cause her cancer. The other dog we have was on a different food since she was younger, but the same brand and it wasn't on the recall list. She's had no problems so far.
We bought another Chow pup after we received the news on Taz on July 13th. She will be 5 months old in October. She and the Keeshond are always playing. So everyone is blue today. Hal
