Mostly consignment, but you never know. Jim Macfadden always throws in some of his own stuff he wants to sell. He has his own salvage tractor yard, a new Landini tractor dealership, and is also an auctioneer for hire. Due to his Landini dealership, he brings some really neat and oddball American/European tractors over by boat. Weird diesel older Farmalls, Allis Chalmers, Massey Harris, etc. American name tractors with European engines.
His auctions are mad-houses. People come from all over the country. Thus the reason I tend to stay away on auction-day unless I really want something badly.
Last year I bought a Deere 300B backhoe/loader for $3200. Good deal, but I have no idea how it got bid to that level. The way they do their auction is very confusing (at least to me). Lots of noise, hard to tell when someone is acutally bidding, and sometimes - two auctioneers selling at the same time. I'm not new to auctions, but always have trouble at Macfaddens. Too loud, crowded, and fast-paced for me.
