You mentioned our present society( as compared to the past).
Go back over 200 years ago. Back when most here in North America were subject to the English king. A very small minority of colonists got fed up, and went against popular public sentiment - started a war- with seemingly impossible odds - and somehow won. The fact is, most people did NOT want to make waves and go against the government in control. A small minority did anyway, and then after-the-fact, many more were glad for it.
That all sounds very similar to what is going on today. Most of the public output that I hear is to "leave things alone", "don't make enemies", etc. I suspect that mindset won't work any better now then it did back in the late 1700s.
I'm not trying to stir up a politcal discussion, but this point about society is relevant. Think about what French-speaking Canadians went through in Nova Scotia when enslaved by the Scotts in the Port Royal area, or what colonists went through in New England when the Revolutionary war was stirring up.
Try to compare that to right now. Can you imagine risking your home, family, livelyhood etc. to fight the present standing government?
I find it amazing what our ancestors risked and accomplished.

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
