Good friend of mine is the caretaker for Vishnu Springs (Illinois). WIU "owns" the ground, or will as soon as "donor" passes away. Currently my friend is able to trade labor for rent and utilities.
That sounds like it will change as soon as the donor is gone. WIU wants it, and the rest of the houses and buildings dozed down as soon as they can "legally" do it, meaning at her passing.
Friends of Vishnu are having their second "open house" on October 16th. They have been told if anyone gets injured or unruly that the big old motel would be gone the next day, and all the rest within 30 days to give my friend time to move out of "his" house and the tenant of the other house time to move also.
Kind of hard to believe Vishnu Springs isn't on the national historic register, but somehow WIU has managed to keep it off. DOUG
