I'm a contractor and I use written contracts for every job I do. I get written estimates from every supplier or sub contractor I use. Its good to get things in writing. Doing so prevents allot of problems. Its just good business. When using CL I like for my first contact to be email, and for the seller to reply with answers to my questions via email. That way I can print out the email and take it along with me when I look at the item....and the item better be as described! That way the seller can't say he told you something he actually hasn't. When I email a seller with several questions about an item, and the reply with their phone number without answering my questions I get suspicious of them. I figure if they can't take two minutes to answer a couple of questions they must have something to hide. Answering an email doesn't take any longer than answering a phone call, plus it can be done at your convenience.
Its easy to weed out the spam and scam emails from the legitimate ones. Don't be afraid to sell to someone a long distance away. Include good detailed pictures of what you're selling. Include all the info you can in your description. If you were a buyer you'd want to see that info up front so why not include it if you're selling? NEVER accept anything but cash....and have one of those pens handy to check the money!

But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
