I just checked the batteries in my 4020. It uses the long slim 6 volts like yours. They are just 850 CCA too but they have a 360 minute reserve at 25 amps. I have found that some of these cheap batteries have a good CCA rating but not much reserve. I buy my batteries at several places but they are all Excide batteries. John Deere, CIH, Napa, all are the same batteries with just different labels. They are made in Manchester, Iowa. I have had very good luck with these Excide batteries. I just call around and see who is cheapest when I need them. Right now they are $111.29 each at John Deere.
Also check your cables out. I had my 3020 diesel start cranking slow last year. I tried several things and found that one of the battery cables was corroded inside the insulation. I replaced it and it cranked fine after that. Try hooking up your jumper cables in parallel to your battery cable and see if it cranks better if it does then you have a bad cable/connection.
