That car back then had no front end at all. The front tires and fenders were like where the doors would have been if it had any, and the driver and passenger sat between them. The one front door was across the whole front like from the back of the dashboard down to their feet, except didn't have much of a dashboard.
Imagine this...an old VW Beetle shrunk to the size of this car, move the front tires to where the doors would be, and chop the front end off, but use the hood to cover the hole from the dashboard down to the floor, on hinges so it swung open to get in and out of...with a bumper below it. I guess it looked like a big egg on its side, and the bottom was the front end as well as the door to get in and out of.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
