Back in the mid-sixties I was coming home from basketball practice in my 59 Chevy, doing about 70 on a two lane blacktop when I met a farmer coming from the other way pulling a flare box wagon with a 620 Deere. There was a hay bale sitting on the front left corner of his wagon and just as we met the bale fell off in front of me, just ahead of the front bumper. I hit the brakes but it was too late and the Chevy went right over the top of the bale, lifting the car up a little as the bale rolled under the car. I kept going but I watched in the mirror as the farmer picked up the UNBROKEN bale and threw it back in the wagon. The thing that impressed me the most about the incident is the fact the bale never broke! Jim
