I agree with the post below. Ring end gap might be too tight causing friction (seizure) The ring groove must also be clean!!. They are designed to be operated on a specific fuel. Which is usually nitromethane and alcohol and lubricant, in a specific blend. Scattering the engine over several meters of earth's surface is not the best way to disassemble it. Jim

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
