And afterwards you put chopped leaves on garden beds. 2 foot of leaves on row of late carrots can mean fresh carrots on table in Feruary and surprised looks on dinner guests face when they taste them. Or put leaves in chicken house, let the hens finish composting overwinter by scratching,etc. RN
