Hey yall....
Well, its been a while since i posted, but im back at it again. I got a little old gocart that i put a new engine in, and got running, and driving really good, and so my next project is an old MTD mower. I bought it off my friend rich (R Aikin) in early 2009, and its just been sitting around ever since. I tried to get it running today, but the engine would need a ton of new parts, etc, and i decided that it would be way cooler to slide in this 18 hp twin cylinder briggs, to replace its 7 hp briggs engine. Ill have to make the hood longer and taller, and might have to drill some new holes, but ive done it before, and i know that it will work. A custom paint job, and some straight pipes and ill be all set :-)
Now the question. The wiring on this engine is a rats nest. Its originally out of this big old bolens machine, with electric everything and lots of lights and other bells and whistles. Id really like to make things look simpler and cleaner, and re wire the engine so that it will start and run and charge, and run two lights. Thats it. Nothing else.
Im wondering if anyone has a really basic wireing diagram... No electric fuel anything, pto, etc. Just charging system, coil, and two lights that they would post and help me out here...

This story is about the day my Grandfather Brown (true name) decided along with my parents to purchase a new Ford tractor. It wasn't really new except to us. The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
