Diesel fuel, no matter which type, is always heavier than gasoline when both are purchased by the gallon. Thus, more molecules of fuel in a gallon of diesel than in a gallon of gasoline. A pound of gasoline will give more power (btus)than a pound of diesel fuel. Soo, it depends on whether you live in the world of reality or the world of theory.
