I wound up with both a Stihl and Husqvarna, both from the old days, early 1990s ha, and they both have given good service. The local Stihl dealer stocks more stuff and has a better shop but really few things are needed except chains and bars. I tend to like the Husquvarna a little better because I can put it down and move brush and it will idle it's little heart out for any length of time where the Stihl sometimes just quits when idling when it feels like it. Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
