Thanks, and thanks for all who serve My father was a veteran of WW2, Started helping the gvt on farms in the south after basic training to pick cotton, was on the ship Aquitania to cross the Atlantic unescorted (they ended up going south to Antartica and the Cape of Good Hope and the Indian Ocean to reach the Mediterranean Sea safely.) Arrived in Egypt to deliver supplies, trucks still in NC, so they used German and Italian trucks. Tunisia, England, France, Belgium and Germany soon followed. Was going to be sent to Japan when the war ended.
