Over here, east of Troy, pretty dry from sometime in June til the end of September, several weeks without rain at a time, + that heat, It's been quite a few years since I recall the ground being so dry, I plowed some areas with my 2 bottom and it was like powder underneath, some areas were sod bound, and or un-tilled since the mid 80's plow worked fine, powder underneath, but areas that have had crops, plow did not suck in, dry and hard. since October the accounting dept handling rain reconciled the shortages and then some, my pond was down 2 feet, stream bed dry, now flowing, it always comes back, did make for some great hay and am told corn did well, corn not chopped and left for the combine to harvest was done before the end of September, dried right down, can't recall that being done so early, usually still in the midst of harvest now.
