Rad hoses and belts rarely fail any more. Yearly flushing and fresh filling of the cooling system is a waste of money and causes disposal problems. I agree with everything else but you missed something vital, winter tires. We see dim witted twits around here on summer tires, mud tires and "All Season" tires on ice or snow. All season tires are fine spring summer and fall. At freezing temps the rubber compound hardens and provides all the grip of a child's plastic wheeled tow on a hardwood floor. If the tires you are using in winter don't have the "Winter Ice Symbol" on the side wall. They are not winter tires and you are looking for trouble. Once again. An all season tire is not a snow or ice tire. Better than a drag racing slick but not good enough. I hear people say they will just drive slower instead to compensate for the wrong tires. Sorry, it doesn't work that way.Ask any cop, fireman, paramedic, tow truck driver or body shop.
