Hello matt agnel, Blue smoke is an indication that engine oil, a little or a lot, is entering the conbustion chamber. A little will have no aprreciable oil consumtion, a lot and you would be adding oil. Black smoke is an indication of incomplete combustion. Its either too much fuel, or not enough air. In you case it sounds as if you have an injector valve seat leaking, and while stopped fuel accumulates in to the cylinder. This is what is making the smoke black at start up. If the smoke clears right up, then the leak is small, if it takes awhile then it keeps leaking untill the smoke clears. You may try adjusting all the valves and see if it clears up. A weak combustion pressure on one cylinder, with late valve timing, may be at fault. Cheaper that going into the fuel system. Good Luck.......................Guido
