They will get around better in most conditions. But you have to be carefull around rocks,or sharp objects so you don;t cut a track, or operation on concrete which wears them quickly. You also have to try and clean them if you use it in mud or snow in freezing conditions, they will freeze up solid if left set over night dirty. A set of tracks will last longer than a set of tires under most conditions, but you are looking at $2500- $4000 for replacements(pair)compared to 4 tires at around $600. Along with the tracks there are alot more wear items to consider,bearings in the rollers and idlers,sprocket wear, and the rubber covering on the rollers,all which wear out and need replacement. My tracked machine costs me alittle over $4 a running hour more in maintenance than the ones on tires. A rubber tired machine will probably be more suited to your needs and if you need the extra traction, go with a set of over the tire tracks.
