I've never taken the last bale out. Loosen the tension, pull out the last completed bale and leave the rest in the machine. I store my baler under cover, never had a problem in 35 years of using the same baler. What's really important is to clean the knotters very well and lube with WD40 or something similar. Grease them sparingly. Soak the drive chains well with used engine oil and grease the rest of the machine. Should be good if stored under cover.
