Another "Swede like me" who lives near here still owns his grand dads ranch out there. He rents it out,but he and his cousin down by Lansing still go out there quite often. He went out this past July to renegotiate the lease on it. He said he stayed in the old house and rode out one morning to check a cow that still hadn't calved yet. Said he must have rode out 5 miles just to find the cows. He went even farther after that to see if he could find some places he thought would be familiar. Said it was a darned good thing the horse knew the way home when it was all over and done with cause he didn't have a clue where he was in all that vast nothing.
