Oh, I agree the US dollar is in trouble. Only thing that keeps it up right now is how bad some of Europe looks - makes ours look 'better' for the moment. Things have to change before it gets better, and that will involve high intrest & inflation...... So we have a long road to go.
Certainly your silver is/was a great investment as you bought low.
It remains to be seen if it was a 'good deal' for you until you actually trade it for something else. :)
Same with the land I bought 4 years ago. Dad was rolling over in his grave that I paid $2500 an acre (($3000 per tillable...) for dirt. He went through 3 land bubbles in his life, saw land sell for $800 & $2000 several times. He'da freaked at the price I paide.
But today, 4 years later, good farm land is close to $6000 an acre, and even average stiuff like I got is $4800+ or so....
As of today, I made a real good buy. :) But 10 years from now, I donno? Will we see that $800 again sometime? At least the grain prices have been good, & it's generating payoff a lot quicker than expected.
