I was on an auction several months ago where they had a couple dozen tractors. When they started selling the tractors, all of them were going for twice what I thought they should, so I wandered off somewhere else. I heard later a real straight MM G1000 went for $600. I'd have given that without batting an eye. But, when that happens, you always wonder if everyone else saw something you didn't.

About the best buy I ever made on an auction was once when I was farming there was a cultivator I was interested in on a consignment auction. Six row, 30", 3 pt. I figured it would go for around $400 or a little better. It was a lousy day, pouring down rain, the auctioneers messed around on small stuff too long and lost the crowd, etc. When they came to the cultivator, the auctioneer couldn't get a bid. I finally bid $20, the auctioneer said "Sold", and I was standing there with my mouth hanging open.
