The Efco has a better power-to-weight ratio and makes more power at lower RPMs, a decompression valve, and MORE metal in it, instead of plastic. The Efco also has a much better warrantee. Also, Efco, Deere, Dolmar, Makita - all offer free complete parts-breakdowns on-line so a person can see what is inside a saw before buying. With many models, Stihl does not.

Stihl MS290 , 56.5 ccs, 3.8 horse, 13 lbs. NOT a pro saw.
