My neighbor has a very nice shop, with necessary hose making equipment, as well as more fittings that some farm dealers around here.. We get hoses made for cost, plus a small profit (last I knew, he charged 15% above his cost)
Before his old shop burned down and they built their new one, it was "self service".. Walk in, make what you want/need, write down what you used, and a week later you got a bill.. With their new shop, the "security" is a little tighter these days LOL..
Can't say even at the discount prices that I wasn't shocked once or twice though.. The price of some fittings is scary...
