I've had hoses made by the local NH dealer for reasonable prices. This fall I went there for one and they didn't have the fittings. So I had the hose made by discounthydraulichose.com. Had it in 3 days from when I ordered it online. It was 4 ft of 3/4" R2 hose at 2.14/ft and the JIC 37 deg fittings were a little over $ 6 each. Total cost including shipping to my door was $31.95. Very satisfied. If you don't need it RIGHT NOW, they're a good choice.
While back I bought a few of their reusable fittings with various size reducers/adapters and some hose for emergencies. (about $100 worth of stuff) Tried to use it as a temporary fix this fall but the length of the reusable fittings plus the extra length for the adapters wouldn't fit in the joint of the backhoe arm where it needed to go. Didn't tell the wife as she had questioned why I needed to buy those at the time and I had explained how I could quickly put a temporary fix on a problem in the field. Just added it to the list of stuff she doesn't know about where I've spent money that she's questioned. Maybe I should start listening to her.

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
