Firewood in my area is pretty simple. You can buy it cut, split, and delivered for 40 bucks a cubic meter for seasoned hardwood, you can go to the forest meister and he'll drive you through the woods and point out logs that are already drug up and piled next to the access road that you just have to cut up and take home for 5 bucks a cubic meter for soft and 10 bucks for hardwood. And there are 3 sawmills within 5 miles that will deliver slabs in 4 cubic meter bundles for 20 bucks. Even if you own woods in most of this area, the forest meister has to come and mark the trees that you can cut.
