Something to keep in mind on a lean to. If you are in a snow zone, remember where it drifts around a building so if you chose the place where the snow drifts it must be beefed up to cary the extra snow drift load.
If you place a smaller building in the same location, the rule of thumb is to double the first fifteen ft of rafters. We usualy just nail another rafter side by side for the first fifteen ft or so.
On a lean to, you may be able to rob the side wall from the exsisting building and use it on the lean to building.
I wil get in trouble for saying this, but our area sure has problems with these --almost a building--the ones that are cheap till the wind blows.
