Thanks for setting me straight on the origin if the Jeep. I Googled it this morn for the lowdown and it was indeed Bantam who had the first hand in it. The history book I read maybe seven or eight years ago did mention Bantam but gave Ford the nod for the final design. Many war vets don't know Ford made them too.
There also was a 'Burma Jeep' or GTB that was a 1 1/2 ton stub nosed dually made by Ford and had a Ford flathead straight six. I restored one of them too. Jim
