Did you put the main caps on in the correct location and orientation... I know the front one is the oil pump and can't be mixed up, I can't remember if the middle and back can be interchanged, they can at least be put on flipped right to left, making the bearings bind.
Oh, yeah, WHY did you take the main caps off in the first place if you only replaced the piston rings???
Or are you calling the ROD caps the main caps?
The rod caps, as well, MUST go back on the same rod and in the same orientation, and SHOULD be match-marked/numbered.
Also, is it possible some previous BLEM was in there and SHIMMED the caps and you've lost the shims?
BTW, did you soak the rope-type oil seals in oil, install them, then cut them to length?
