The best kind of flashlight I've ever owned is a streamlight called luxeon jr. I use it everyday and the beam puts out a perfect white light. It has been dropped from a 30 ft skyjack and has fallen into a jet fuel trailer. It still works as it did when new. I don't carry a leatherman but still use the gerber I was issued by the army in 1991. When I'm working I also always have a pair of small sidecutters in my back pocket. Loosing your sight sucks, I'm down to 3% vision and I'm only 41 but there's not much I can do about it.
