MAKE SURE IT'S OUT OF GEAR & CLUTCH IS RELEASED. If you're not totally sure how to do this, don't go any further. Open the compression relief petcocks. Turn on the gas supply. Set the choke. Set the throttle to just above an idle position. If it's a hand crank, turn the top of the flywheel towards the front of the tractor to crank it. If it's electric start, step on the starter switch lever. They all have a different "sweet spot" as far as throttle and choke combinations, but this should get it going.
