I had a simular problem today, but it wasn't an insect. I was using the WD45 and loader today, and after leaving the tractor shed, it died. I figured it was still too cold, and pulled the choke and it started right up. By the time I put it in gear, and released the clutch to take off , it died again. I went and got a hsndfull of wrenchs, and removed the gas line at the carb, and had just a trickle flow. I chased it backwards to the tank, and ended up removing the sediment bowl unit, from the tank. I found a white cigarette filter in the sediment bowl inlet from the tank, and it looked smaller in diameter than original, like someone had rolled it between their fingers to make it smaller, and then placed it in the aluminum passage of the bowl. It had to of been in one of my gas cans, and been poured in there by me, but no members of our family smokes! SPOOKS MAYBE?
