What we use is automatic dusters with Diatomaceous earth. But we have about 3000 head and we have these hanging at each gate but they are pretty simple to make out of burlap and a 2"X4". What you do is take and cut the sacks into two peaces and then you stitch them back together so that you have what we call a pig. They are about 8' long and when you put the DE in you only fill it about 1/3rd full. then you tie the pig to a 8' 2"X4" and then nail a peace of corrugated tin over the top so that it protects the pig from the rain so to keep the DE dry. You hang the pigs that they are low enough that the cattle will have to rub under them as they move in and out of the gates. When they do it dusts them full length with DE and the DE wont hurt the cattle at all or effect the sales or slaughter date, and the DE will kill any parasite they have. We also feed DE to keep our cattle form getting worms and other parasites.
