Large boxes of cerial, economy packages etc. are all in the same boat.
I know of a dude that does the stratagy for a living, what people will actualy buy, and think they have a bargin.
We often hear of 50% off, the boss is away so we are going toooooo.....We are overstocked so we are going tooooo....
There is not a single item in the store that does not have some kind of well thought out plan for its placment.
Where is the milk in every store? Where is the TV guide, the nickle candy? Even the lights, and music are well thought out by numerous studies.
We have a local auto delership that has a push, pull, or drag sale---gurenteed $1,500.00 for any trade in. I must say we have alot of foolish folks that bite on that one............They could other wise get the $2,000.00 dollar no trade in allowance.
Notice how orange the oranges are in the orange plastic woven bag? How about what we think to be clear plastic wrap for the meat that has a red tint to it? Then again with the green plastic wrap around the produce?
Our system is revolving around good stratagy, or deception, rather than a fair and honest hand shake dealing.
My daughter in law worked at Best Buy for a while, and they have the NO THREE TIMES policy. Before you leave the store with any purchase the sales person must ask you three times to use their extended warrenty, and several other high pressure pitches, like financing etc.
