The chargers have a build in brain box that will shut them off when fully charged. Recharge before they are completely flat. I think you don't want to get them below 1/4 charge. The guages that I've seen will tell you one thing when you are driving and another thing when they are setting. Under charging will do more harm to your batteries. Heat will kill batteries too..let them cool off before charging or charge at night. Check the water level often. If the cell is using water, sign of a bad battery. Buy a load tester and check each battery often and replace it. One bad battery seems to kill the other batteries. Depending on use, you may will be lucky to get 4-5 years. George
