This is a very informative post all six pages of it. A while back I ask a question about why JD folks had so many more posts than the others. I'm beginning to see why. The only dealer around here is a Massey dealer all the others have moved on. I have six tractors five red and one green. I do almost all my own work. The newest one is a '63. I buy most parts from sponsors of this and other tractor web sites. I agree that quality is not what it used to be. With all the problems JD owners seem to be having, I'll stick with the old stuff and save lots of money and headaches. Why deal with these people? Isn't it like sticking your hand in the fire?

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
