I'm no L.P. expert, but it sounds to me like it's an electrical issue. If you charge the battery and it'll run for 20-30 minutes then die, that would tell me that your generator isn't charging, which means the battery is going dead and shutting down the solenoid. Also would explain why it won't start sometimes, as not enough current in batteries to open solenoid. Just my thoughts, again not an L.P. expert...
