Genealogy is both fun and rewarding.
Also one can find a lot of interesting stories about the ancestors which tend to bring to life those on the family tree.
My grandfathers brother has provided me with much interesting reading material. I've provided a hot link to a story telling of his demise. He and another man were murdered in the 1860 gold fields of Montana as they attempted to bring another man to justice for horse stealing. The book provides an entire chapter which also details the ensuing pursuit to bring the murderer to justice.
